Reflection Park's Caring for Caregivers series is dedicated to honoring and supporting the amazing individuals who provide compassionate care to those nearing the end of life. Whether you're a death doula, hospice care worker, chaplain, family caregiver, or anyone else committed to accompanying and caring for others during their final days, this program is for you.
Our fall edition of the Caring for Caregivers series will take place in the Sacred Circle—an enchanting meeting place nestled within a ring of trees. From the comfort of a dozen anti-gravity chairs, while gazing up at the tree canopy, fellow end-of-life caregiver Lee Ann Blank will offer a sound bath. Although not a certified sound practitioner, Lee is a drum circle facilitator and registered yoga teacher who will use her handpan, buffalo drum, singing bowl, koshi chimes, and rattles to complement the soothing sounds of nature.
For those who spend much of their time holding space for others, this sound bath is an invitation to be held—by the forest and the community of people who understand the weight of this work.
This event is designed for a small group, and space is limited, so please register to reserve your spot. A waitlist will be available if spaces fill up.
Lee Anne Blank has worked and volunteered in end-of-life care for more than twenty-five years. For twenty of those years, before her recent retirement, she was a licensed massage therapist specializing in oncology and hospice massage, and a volunteer with Montgomery Hospice. Lee was honored by the Rockville Chamber of Commerce with their Citizen of the Year award for her volunteer work with hospice patients. Lee is a registered yoga teacher and has practiced yoga for over two decades. She is also a drum circle facilitator and believes in the healing power of both rhythm and yoga. Lee currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors of Companioning the Dying.
