You can also visit Reflection Park from 8:30 a.m. until sunset on a day of your choosing to see the Park and enjoy a self-guided tour. Self-guided tour maps are available just inside the entry gate. While here, we encourage you to walk the grounds and explore the one-mile hiking trail that winds along streams and through nearly 30 acres of forest.

During this season of shorter days and frigid temperatures, let us heed the wisdom of our Norwegian brothers and sisters who champion the seasonal practice of “friluftsliv” to help us through the winter solstice and its wake.

We are grateful for the time and care that Bluestone Woodwork invested in our handcrafted entry sign, made from a solid cedar slab to welcome all who visit the Park.

Announcing our Harmony Fund for Memorial Trees

Reflection Park is a non-profit organization dedicated to offering natural burials that honor the cycle of life. As part of our ongoing tree-planting strategy, we are pleased to announce our Harmony Fund for Memorial Trees. This fund will support the planting of numerous trees within burial sections and throughout other parts of the Park where each tree is accompanied by a small plaque commemorating the memory of someone special identified by the donor. As a result, these trees will not only enhance the natural beauty of Reflection Park but will also serve as living memorials.

Every contribution, no matter the size, plays a vital role in supporting Reflection Park’s mission. We will acknowledge each generous tax-deductible donation in our communications, celebrating the spirit of giving that helps sustain our efforts.

We also continue to welcome donations to our two other charitable funds: the Equity Fund for Burial Assistance, which helps cover the cost of natural burial at Reflection Park for families in financial need, and the Care Fund for General Operations to support ongoing operational needs.

Reflections from the Executive Director

Reflection Park held its first burial on November 30. For me, it was a cause for immense gratitude and humility. In mid-November, we finally opened our gates after five years of diligent work. On the day of the burial, I was reminded why we are doing this work. Yes, it's about the environment, and yes it's about returning to simplicity and harmony with nature, and yes it's about leaning into our mortality. And... that day was also a reminder that it's about supporting humans who are going through the very serious and heavy journey of losing someone they love. And though we may not be able to take away their pain, we can walk with them for part of their journey.

I am grateful that we had the opportunity to walk with the family who entrusted us with the burial of their infant son. As his mother was leaving, she said to us "Take care of my son." Those were weighty and gut-wrenching words to hear. They were also a profound reminder of our commitment to her and to every family who entrusts us with this responsibility. Of course, we replied that we would indeed take care of him, just as we intend to fulfill the same promise for every family so that each burial is as sacred and meaningful as this first one.
